Jamison Galt, Senior Pastor

Jamison Galt is the founding pastor of Resurrection Clinton Hill. He hails from everywhere, or nowhere—depending on your perspective—having grown up in Florida, California, Washington State, North Carolina, and Texas, in that order. Jamison eventually graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with his degree in English Literature and a focus on creative writing. He received his Master of Divinity from Covenant Theological Seminary in St. Louis, Missouri. From 2006 to 2010 Jamison served as an assistant pastor at Resurrection Park Slope, during which time he completed Redeemer Presbyterian’s church planting Fellows Program under Pastor Timothy Keller and others. Jamison was ordained here in Brooklyn on Pentecost Sunday, 2007, and launched RCH in January, 2012. His better half since 2001, Laura, is the founding director of Safe Families for Children NYC. Jamison and Laura have four children: twins Arthur and Adaline, and Tihun and Solomon whom they adopted from Ethiopia in 2010. For fun Jamison likes to cook, write, make music as Jamison Wake, do immersive theater, and surf.

Jeff Newell, Music Director

Having grown up outside of a small town in Nebraska, Jeff graduated from the University of Nebraska with a Bachelors Degree in Music Education and moved to Chicago to study and perform on the local jazz scene. After years of valuable experience in Chicago, an NEA grant to study with jazz master David Liebman eventually drew Jeff to Fort Greene, Brooklyn, in 1994. Jeff was surprised to find that, through a convoluted set of life experiences, God used the move to NYC to lead him back to attending church after a long hiatus. With his musical interests, Jeff soon found himself a part of the music ministry at Brooklyn’s Baptist Temple, where he served as music director from 2000 to 2005.

Jeff started attending Resurrection Park Slope in 2005, where he was on the sound team and frequently lead worship for children’s church. The start up of Resurrection Clinton Hill in 2012 was a true answer to prayer for Jeff, providing the opportunity to make a joyful noise and worship God among the people he lives with in his neighborhood. Jeff’s extensive performing career began 1976 and has taken him around the world, from Europe to China, from intimate clubs to symphonic halls and into people’s living rooms through television shows and commercials. He is currently head of the Jazz and Woodwind Departments at the Brooklyn Music School, where he has been on faculty since 1997. Jeff continues to make his home in Fort Greene with his wife, Ruth, and their son, Henry. You can find out more about Jeff’s musical endeavors at: www.new-trad.com.

Linda Harris, Children's Ministry Director

Linda Harris was born and raised in North Jersey, but always dreamed of living in New York City. Her dream came true when she moved to Manhattan after graduating from Williams College in 1994. One year later, she moved to Brooklyn, which has been her beloved home ever since. Linda and her husband, Stephen, met and married in 2001. They are now raising their four children—Gavin, Elizabeth, Lucy, and Jane—in their Fort Greene home. Linda is thrilled to serve and to connect more deeply with other children and families in the neighborhood as the Children’s Ministry Director at Resurrection Clinton Hill.
